Thanksgiving Day!
This morning, I was up at 4:30 to go fight the crowds at Walmart in Rexburg. People are crazy. I was told that some had been there since midnight. Crazy, I say. Oh well. Someday, I really will sleep in on Black Friday. Someday....

Cousins
My two nieces, Josie and Avery, got to come visit us on Tuesday. They live in Texas and last time we saw them was at Christmas time last year. They were here for a short period of time, but the kids had so much fun playing. It was so fun to have them here. I hope we get to see them again soon. We just love them so much!

Happy Thanksgiving!
A HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU AND YOURS!!!!!!
Thanksgiving Poem
'Twas the night of Thanksgiving, But I just couldn't sleep.
I tried counting backwards, I tried counting sheep.
The leftovers beckoned- The dark meat and white,
But I fought the temptation With all of my might.
Tossing and turning With anticipation
The thought of a snack Became infatuation.
So I raced to the kitchen, Flung open the door
And gazed at the fridge,Full of goodies galore!
I gobbled up turkey And buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots, Beans and tomatoes.
I felt myself swelling So plump and so round,
'Til all of a sudden I rose off the ground!
I crashed through the ceiling, Floating into the sky
With a mouthful of pudding And a handful of pie.
But I managed to yell As I soared past the trees...
Happy Eating to All! Pass the cranberries, please!
May your stuffing be tasty May your turkey be plump.
May your potatoes 'n gravy Have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious, May your pies take the prize.
May your Thanksgiving dinner Stay off of your thighs!
Happy, Blessed Thanksgiving to you and yours!

Eatin good in the Neighborhood!
Last night, our friends, Matt and Shellie, came over and watched our kids for the evening. Shellie had to do a service observation for one of her classes. The first thing they said when they showed up was "Thanks for letting us watch yor kids." I laughed a little and told them that I should be the one thanking them.
Anyways, Ryan and I were able to go out on a date while they were watching the kids. We went to dinner at Appleby's because we had a gift card for there. It was soooo yummy. It seems like it's been a while since we've gone out, just the two of us. After dinner, we went and did a little shopping for Kaylee's birthday.
Babysitters: $0
Dinner: $0
Time together: priceless.
Thank you Matt and Shellie! Any time you want to "observe" 3 crazy kids, just let us know. We owe you!

Good job guys!
I just wanted to give my kids a little praise with this post. I feel like I am so negative all the time, telling them no, don't, having to keep after them about getting their chores done. So I thought it would be a nice change to give them some positive feedback. Look at the great job they did of cleaning up the playroom, the living room and their bedrooms. And I only had to threaten Bo a couple of times that I would throw away his toys if he didn't help. (notice the garbage bag on his bed. it is full of his toys that would have gotten thrown out.)
Also, we had parent teacher conferences the other day and I am so proud of my kids and the efforts they put forth into their school work. Kaylee's teacher couldn't say enough good about her. She is so smart and does a great job. And Bo has made some good improvements since the first week of school. He is in kindergarten, and the youngest one to boot. He struggles a bit, but I've seen great improvement in the last couple of weeks.
I love you guys and am so proud of you!

If you love your country, thank a vet
Happy Veterans Day!
This morning, I attended a Veterans Day program at my kids' school. They celebrated and honored Veterans through songs and speakers. It was a very touching program. I often felt the tears swell up in my eyes.
They also showed a short video about Arlington National Cemetary. It was really neat to learn a little about it.
I hope every US citizen will take a few minutes today to stop and think about our vets, both living and not. We owe them A LOT.

Good Friends, good times
FRIENDS IN MY CIRCLE
When I was little, I used to believe in the concept of one best friend,
And then I started to become a woman.
And then I found out that if you allow your heart to open up,
God would show you the best in many friends.
One friend is needed when you ' re going through things with your spouse.
Another friend is needed when you ' re going through things with
your parents.
Another will sit beside you in the bleachers as you delight in your
children and their activities.
Another when you want to shop, share, heal, hurt, joke, or just be.
One friend will say, 'Let's cry together, '
Another, 'Let's fight together, '
Another, 'Let's walk away together. '
One friend will meet your spiritual need,
Another your shoe fetish,
Another your love for movies,
Another will be with you in your season of confusion,
Another will be your clarifier,
Another the wind beneath your wings.
But whatever their assignment in your life,
On whatever the occasion,
On whatever the day,
Or wherever you need them to meet you with their gym shoes on and
hair pulled back,
Or to hold you back from making a complete fool of yourself ..
Those are your best friends.
It may all be wrapped up in one person,
But for many, it ' s wrapped up in several..
One from 7th grade,
One from high school,
Several from the college years,
a couple from old jobs,
On some days your parents,
On some days your neighbour,
On others, your siblings
And on some days, your children.
This past week, I had the opportunity to spend time with several different groups of friends.
I went to the temple one morning, went to dinner and a movie one evening with some girlfriends, and went to a couples game night one night. These are in addition to regular everyday activities in which I'm in contact with great friends.
I'm so blessed to have so many great friends. Thanks girls and guys!

Halloween pics
We had a fun Halloween week. We took the kids to the school carnival last Saturday. Then this past Wednesday, the youth in our ward put on a carnival for the primary kids. And last night we took the kids trick or treating.
Kaylee was Hannah Montana
Bo was an American soldier
Raegan was a bumble bee
